This year marked the debut of the O2 Surf Masters, a brand-new rapid surfing contest series making waves in Germany’s Rapid Surf scene. More than just a contest, the O2 Surf Masters brought surf culture to life with livestreams, beach bar vibes, DJ sets, and a strong sense of community.
Launching in late May in Langenfeld, the series brought together amateurs, hobby surfers, and top-level athletes to test their skills on standing waves. With additional stops in Berlin and a climactic final at RheinRiff in Düsseldorf, competitors battled through men’s and women’s heats, intense board battles, and thrilling finals.
The winners of each stop set the tone for the high level of performance across the series:
In Langenfeld, Valeska Schneider and Marius Gerlach claimed the titles.
In Berlin, Lea Sasse and Lennard Weinhold stood at the top of the podium.
And at the RheinRiff final, once again Valeska Schneider and Marius Gerlach proved unbeatable, each securing their second win of the series.
A standout story came from Nadine Ziesing, a local rider from Langenfeld and Düsseldorf. Competing at both her home stops, she made it all the way to the finals at each event—an impressive achievement given the tough field and rising competition.
It was a celebration of rapid surfing, pushing the sport forward and giving newcomers and fans alike a reason to stay stoked.
